Dan Koudelka in freeski paradise

Dan Koudelka will spend this year’s winter in Innsbruck, a place which is central to all glaciers trips. The nearest Stubai glacier is 40 min away and in the winter time there are two urban snowparks – Nordkette and Patcherkofel right at Innsbruck’s doorstep.

‘I was thinking that since I’m here I’d like to be a bit productive and really enjoy the season. I’ve agreed with friends from LABmedia to do some filming whilst there. And so we did a little project almost like a video blog. Here’s the first installment called simply ‘Autumn’. We had 5 good days – Monday to Friday so we managed to avoid the typical weekend rush. We had a simple plan: 2 days at Stubai, 2 days at Kaunertal and 1 spare day just in case. Well, we planned it well but the Mother Nature had a different idea.  At Stubai we had about 2 hours of sun and then the whole snowpark was covered in clouds so thick, that you couldn’t see the edge of your skis. At Kuaunertal the weather was definitely much more in tune giving us around 5 hours before fog rolled down the slopes.’

Despite the funny weather, I think the first installment was a great success thanks to LABmedia!!! Other thanks go to Horsefeathers Clothing, Ymli skis and also to Denny for the lift tickets!
