Have you ever seen a DJ on a snowboard in the mountains playing while riding? No? Then you haven't met our HF team rider, Ethan Morgan yet! A super talented German-American rider who is probably at home everywhere. From the backcountry, through the park to the street, as well as behind a mobile DJ desk. In a few days in Innsbruck, Austria, the mecca of European snowboarding, Ethan will start a hell called DIYX STRT JAM 2022! And you definitely shouldn't be missing there! You can not make it to Innsbruck in person? Never mind! We have prepared a live stream from the event for you, so there will be no FOMO (fear of missing out) happening. But before that, check out Ethan's new Horsefeathers spot and get inspired by his winter outerwear selection this year.
Your event, DIYX STRT JAM, which will take part on 16-20 november in Innsbruck, is quickly approaching. How is the preparation going?
It's hectic, but it's gonna be dope.
What would you say to people who are still thinking if they should or shouldn't come?
It's gonna be the event of the year, so you can make that choice for yourself.
Let's have a look on your HF outerwear combo for this year. It's Ripple jacket in navy and Howel pants in black color. Why did you choose those exact pieces? What makes you choose them?
I love the quality of the Ripple jacket, it's great for backcountry and keeps me warm out in the wild. Howel pants are a must, the cut, the sizing, the steeze, its all in the package.
Which technical or design features can’t be missing on your winter jacket?
I need a breathable warm jacket so when I am hiking in pow or hot lapping in the park I am always feeling cozy.
Ethan's combo: Ripple jacket & Howel pants
Ethan is a multi-talented rider: from backcountry and park-riding to street, so our Ripple jacket suits him best. 15,000 mm membrane will keep him dry when the active 40 g Primaloft Black insulation keeps him warm. Work perfectly in combo with regular fit Howel pants and Colt goggles!
And what’s the most important thing for you, when it comes to snowboard pants?
That they're baggy.
From the scale 1-10 (10 is the most) how important is design/style for you, regarding winter outerwear?
10. If I don’t look good, I don’t feel good, and if I don’t feel good, I can’t ride good.
And from 1-10 how important are technical paremetres like water resistance, breathability etc. for you, regarding winter outerwear?
Same as the answer before, solid 10, just minus the looking good aspect, so that means I need to feel good to ride good, so I need to feel comfy in my clothes.
