Features

PHOTOCHROMIC LENSES

Photochromic lenses are adaptive lenses that darken and lighten in response to exposure to direct sunlight. These lenses are an excellent choice for runners and bikers who often find themselves at the mercy of changing light conditions.

A photochromic lens darkens on exposure to light of sufficiently high frequency, most commonly UV light. In the absence of activating light, the lenses return to their clear state. The glass transmittance is 40% before exposure to sunlight and 14% after exposure. These glasses are suitable for conditions with mild to strong sunlight.

This crazy idea could not have originated in the mind of anyone other than our biker Tomáš "Leader" Zejda. He managed to got his friend Ondra into it, and when there were two of them, they only needed someone to document the whole thing. And Patrik Paulínyi was more than a suitable candidate for that. You can find out how it all turned out in a document that you will only find in this blog so far. Be sure to read an interview in which you will learn a lot of behind-the-scenes info from the whole trip. Enjoy!
